CHICOPEE, Mass. - February 17, 2022 - The Dean College women's basketball team was defeated by Elms College, 78-31, in the team's final regular season road game Thursday evening.
Dean (2-16, 0-14 GNAC) will conclude the regular season at home on Saturday against Emmanuel at 1 p.m. Elms improves to 12-8 overall and 8-8 in the conference.
First-year
Lena Muraski (Manchester, Conn.) led the way for Dean with eight points off the bench. Senior
Sitaara Muhammad (Cambridge, Mass.) grabbed a team best eight rebounds, while junior
Alexah Potter (East Hartford, Conn.) finished with seven points and seven rebounds.
Elms was led by Angelica Peguero-Flores' double-double of 21 points and 13 rebounds. Aiyanalee Lopez made all five of her shots to finish with 14 points, while McKenzie Huria added 13 points.
The Blazers did most of their damage in the first and fourth quarters outscoring Dean 22-6 and 28-10, respectively.
The third quarter was played evenly as each team scored 11 points. First-year
Catherine Thomas (Woodbridge, Conn.) scored five points to lead the Bulldogs in the frame.
