Box Score

FRANKLIN, Mass. – September 11, 2021– The Dean College women's soccer team fell to Regis, 4-0, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opener for both teams at Lippert Field Saturday afternoon.

Regis evens its record to 1-1 overall and goes to 1-0 in the conference. The Pride travel to Rhode Island College on Wednesday for a non-conference tilt at 6 p.m. Dean falls to 0-1-1 overall and 0-1 in GNAC action. The Bulldogs step out of conference on Tuesday to play at Mitchell at 4 p.m.

Regis got on the board with less than a minute gone by when senior Miya Nishibun (Honolulu, Hawaii) dribbled through a few Dean defenders and scored into the left side of the net to give the Pride a 1-0 lead.

The visitors doubled their lead in the 36th minute junior after junior defender Alexa Katsoulis (Oxford, Mass.) set up junior teammate Hailey Lovell (Wakefield, Mass.) with a chance. Lovell took a shot from 25 yards that deflected off the diving keeper over the goal line for the score.

Regis tacked on a pair of goals in the second half off the foot of Nishibun for a hat trick. The goals came in the 72nd and 84th minute of action. Junior Maria Toumbouras (Walpole, Mass.) had an assist on the Pride's third goal of the contest.

Regis senior Ori Attridge (Westwood, Mass.) earned the clean sheet with three saves, including a penalty shot. First-year Haley Gaunt (Johnston, R.I.) finished with 17 saves for the Bulldogs.
