DARTMOUTH, Mass. - September 1, 2021 - The Dean College field hockey team returned to the field for the first time in 672 days. The Bulldogs opened the 2021 campaign at UMass Dartmouth under the lights. The Corsairs came away with a 9-0 victory.
Dean (0-1) will look to rebound at home on Saturday against New England College. Game time is set for 4 p.m. UMass Dartmouth (1-0) hosts Simmons on Saturday at 1 p.m.
The home team got on the board four minutes into the contest and never looked back. The Corsairs went on to score four times in the first quarter, two in the second, one in the third and two in the fourth. Brittany Perry and Kylie Dias had three goals apiece to lead UMass Dartmouth.
Dean sophomore goalie Mackenzie Fillion (New Bedford, Mass.) had 20 saves in the cage, while first-year Madison Gilbert (Sanbornton, N.H.) chipped in with a defensive save.
