FRANKLIN, Mass. – October 23, 2021 – The Dean College women's volleyball team was defeated by the University of Saint Joseph, 3-0, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) match in Pieri Gymnasium Saturday afternoon. The Blue Jays won by scores of 25-19, 25-14 and 25-13.

Millianette Alvarez (Newton, Mass.),
Amanda Payne (Millis, Mass.) and
Shelby Smith (Southwick, Mass.) were honored for their years of dedication to Dean College and the women's volleyball program.
Dean goes to 4-18 overall and 1-10 in the GNAC. The Bulldogs step out of conference action on Tuesday to host Fisher at 7 p.m. USJ improves to 7-11 overall and 3-8 in the conference. The Blue Jays will host Salem State on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Payne led the Bulldogs with nine digs. Smith had a kill and four digs, while Alvarez recorded a kill and a pair of service aces. Junior
Sari Albury (Nassau, Bahamas) had a team best seven kills on .312 hitting and a pair of blocks. First-year
Emily Larouche (Agawam, Mass.) and sophomore
Jenny Galley (Pembroke, Mass.) each had six kills. Sophomore Annabella Driscoll (Plymouth, Mass.) had 12 assists.
USJ hit .421 as a team and was led by a 14-kill performance from senior Hannah Benson (Terryville, Conn.). Junior Shannon Carey (Bayport, N.Y.) added nine kills on .471 hitting. Junior libero Julia MacKenzie (Wallingford, Conn.) picked up a match best 18 digs. Sophomore Victoria Isokpehi (Lagos, Nigeria) finished with three kills and five blocks.
