Box Score FRANKLIN, Mass. – October 2, 2021 - The Dean College men's soccer team was defeated by Lasell, 3-1, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) contest Saturday afternoon.

Lasell improves to 2-8 overall and 1-5 in the conference. The Lasers travel to Saint Joseph's (Maine) on Tuesday for a 6:30 p.m. match against the Monks. Dean falls to 2-8 overall and 1-5 in the GNAC. The Bulldogs play at Colby-Sawyer next Saturday at 1 p.m.

The Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead, five minutes into the action, when sophomore Shavar Champagnie (West Yarmouth, Mass.) fed sophomore Kazu Noguchi (Hyogo, Japan) who finished for his second goal of the season.

In the 39^th minute, Lasell senior goalie Zack LaWare (Wilbraham, Mass.) sent a kick over the top of the Dean defenders to a streaking Jaydon Perez (Amherst, Mass.). Perez traveled down the right flank and scored into the left corner of the net to tie the score at 1-1 heading into halftime.

The Lasers took a 2-1 lead in the 80^th minute when junior Michael Palumbo (Boston, Mass.) ripped a shot from 25 yards out into the upper left corner of the net.

Three minutes later, Palumbo found space just over the midfield line and sent a high-arching ball towards goal the went over the Dean keeper for the insurance goal from 40 yards out.

LaWare finished with six saves to earn the win for Lasell, while Dean senior goalkeeper Bryce Antoch (Cranston, R.I.) had seven saves in the loss.
