NEW HAVEN, Conn. - October 2, 2021 – The Dean College field hockey team picked up their first win of the season with a 3-2 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) victory at Albertus Magnus on Saturday.
Dean goes to 1-7 overall and 1-3 in the GNAC. The Bulldogs travel to the University of Saint Joseph on Wednesday for a 4 p.m. game with the Blue Jays. Albertus Magnus drops to 0-4 overall and 0-3 in conference play. The Falcons have a quick turnaround and will also play at the University of Saint Joseph. Their game takes place on Monday at 3:30 p.m.
After a scoreless first quarter, the teams combined for three goals in the second frame. The home team got on the board first with a goal by Alexis Duranleau, 7:26 into the quarter. Five minutes later, Dean senior
Kat Conforti (Warwick, R.I.) tied the game with her first goal of the season. Albertus Magnus took a 2-1 lead into the halftime break when Duranleau finished a pass from Danielle Brodman with 1:31 left on the clock.
Junior
Maire Brown (Huntington, N.Y.) brought the Bulldogs even for the second time with her first tally of the season, 3:18 into the third quarter. Less than six minutes later, Brown set up senior teammate
Jordyn McKenney (Nashua, N.H.) with a scoring chance. McKenney did the rest as she found the back of the cage with her first collegiate goal and eventual game-winner.

Mackenzie Fillion (New Bedford, Mass.) earned the win for the Bulldogs with four saves. Mikayla Lyston finished with 13 saves for the Falcons.
Dean outshot Albertus Magnus 21-6 and had a 16-6 advantage in penalty corners.
