THE LEAD:
With the chance to host a conference tournament game still a possibility, host Dean College erupted for a school-record for points as the program honored a pair of seniors with a resounding 120-73 win over Lesley University in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) men's basketball action on Wednesday evening.

The win for the Bulldogs keeps them in the hunt for a home NECC Quarterfinal game next Tuesday. Saturday's regular season finale on the road at Elms will go a long way in determining whether the already playoff bound Bulldogs will be in Franklin or on the road when postseason play begins.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Dean faced little resistance from a tough-nosed Lesley University squad, who actually held a brief lead less than five minutes into the contest. The Bulldogs took control with a 21-4 spurt over a five minute span spurt that gave them the lead for good.

The offense for Dean continued to click, as they went into halftime with a 61-28 advantage following an opening 20 minutes that saw then shoot nearly 60 percent from the field (22-for-37) and Jordan Booker (Waterbury, Conn.) nearly outscore them by himself (28-27).

Things continued in favor of the Bulldogs with their lead hovering around 30 points for most of the second half and then peaking out at 49 with a little more than a minute to play in the contest.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Booker finished with his second career game with more than 40 points, totaling 44 points, six assists and seven steals.

Fellow senior D'Caran Anderson (Compton, Calif.) had ten points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals and with his two made three-pointers, is closing in on 100 made triples in his career.

Meanwhile, Traijan Powell (Sierra Vista, Ariz.), was a perfect 5-for-5 from the field in his 19 minutes of action, ending with 12 points and six rebounds.

UP NEXT:
Dean returns to action on Saturday with a road trip the Elms for a 12:00 PM tipoff.
