THE LEAD:
Cassidy Harrison
(Foxboro, Mass.) scored 20 of her game-high 28 points in the first half and visiting Becker College secured a 60-45 win over Dean College in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) women's basketball action on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The game was actually tied at 17-17 at the end of the first quarter following a buzzer-beating from Harrison.

Becker then took control in the second period, outscoring the Bulldogs, 20-9 in the quarter as Harrison continued her hot shooting, connecting on a trio of triples including one that gave the Hawks a 37-24 edge with less than two minutes to go in the half.

Dean worked their way back into the contest and when Taisha Alexandre (Quincy, Mass.) dropped in a three-pointer of her own, suddenly the Bulldogs were within striking distance at 39-35 with a little more than five minutes to go in the third period.

A few moments later Dean was even closer at 42-39 following a Marcenzya Melvin (Providence, R.I.) inside hoop, but for the final 12 minutes of the contest, the Bulldogs committed eight turnovers and shot just 3-for-16 from the field.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
The Hawks took advantage of 32 Bulldog turnovers, turning them into 35 points, which helped offset Dean's 55-32 edge on the glass.

Sarah Ware, who played all 40 minutes for Becker, finished with ten points, six rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocks.

Dean was paced by Alexah Potter (East Hartford, Conn.), who totaled 14 points and 23 rebounds, while Makayla Rudder (Springfield, Mass.) chipped in with 12 points and ten rebounds.

UP NEXT:
Dean returns to action on Tuesday when they travel to Mitchell for a 6:00 PM tipoff.
