THE LEAD:
Despite a strike from sophomore Paulo Correia (Fogo, Cape Verde), his seventh in the last four games, the Dean College Bulldogs fell to Rhode Island College 3-1 on Wednesday in non-league action at Alumni Field in Providence, R.I.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The game was back and forth for much of the contest.  After a scoreless first half, the Anchormen finally broke through with a goal in the 62nd minute, when Thomas Aldana scored his first goal of the season.

Dean answered back moments later, with Correia scoring off a Kyle Lameiras (Attleboro, Mass.) corner kick to even the score at one.

Seven minutes later, Jack Clancey headed in a rebound to give the hosts a 2-1 advantage.  RIC added insurance in the 82nd minute when Clancey set up Papa Badiane for the clinching goal.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Rhode Island College outshot the Bulldogs 26-8, holding an 8-4 advantage in shots on goal. Bryce Antoch (Cranston, R.I.) made five saves for Dean while Issac Garcia stopped three shots for the Anchormen.

Dean has now lost two straight after winning three of their first four.  The Bulldogs sit at 3-3 on the year as they approach New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) play.

UP NEXT:
Dean is off for a full week, returning to action next Wednesday, September 25th, against Regis College at 3:30 p.m. on Longley Field in Franklin, Mass.
