THE LEAD:
New England College scored three goals in the match's first 30 minutes and it proved to be all they would need as the host Pilgrims recorded a 3-0 shutout of Dean College in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) women's soccer action on Tuesday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Delany Dupuis wasted little time in helping NEC get on the board when she set up Bridgette Winters for her eighth goal of the season just 4:34 into the contest.
Michaela Pomeroy doubled the Pilgrim advantage less than 15 minutes later when she found the back of the net for the first time in the contest.
The Pilgrims' final score also came off the foot of Pomeroy with help from Shamiyah Lynch at 29:36.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
NEC controlled play for much of the match, outshooting Dean 54-5 and holding a 13-1 edge in corner kicks.
Macy Parisee (East Freetown, Mass.) recorded 15 saves in the loss for the Bulldogs, who got shots from Miranda Seacord (Cambridge, N.Y.), Ali Nelson (Candia, N.H.) and Allison Buckley (Guilford, Vt.).
UP NEXT:
Dean returns to action on Saturday for their final home contest against Southern Vermont. First touch is slated for 12:30 PM.
