Shooting just 17 for 71 from the floor, including 2 for 24 from outside the arc, the women's basketball team came up short against a strong Berea team, dropping their opening round game, 79-61.  Down nine at the half, Dean was outscored 37-20 in the second half to seal their fate.  Denisha Gardener led all Dean scorers with 19 points and 19 rebounds.

They return to action early tomorrow morning (8:00 am) to face Alfred State College, who lost their opener, 67-43.
