Brett Chaves enters his second academic year with the Bulldogs, currently serving as the Sports Information Director. Brett oversees public relations for all 16 varsity programs, schedule coordination, manages game operations, and leads digital content strategy across platforms. His expertise in broadcasting, live production, graphic design, and crisis management ensures seamless game-day experiences and consistent brand messaging.
Prior to Dean, Chaves served as the Director of Broadcast and Media Relations for the New England Knockouts and Brockton Rox. There, he operated as the play-by-play voice, managed all media relations material, and oversaw the in-game entertainment experience. His efforts also secured national exposure on networks such as NESN, Fox Sports, ESPN, and Good Morning America.
In addition to his role at Dean, Brett also works as a Play-By-Play Broadcaster with the Providence Bruins, the top minor affiliate for the NHL's Boston Bruins. There, Chaves serves as a voice throughout the team's home calendar while aiding in several audio & media relations efforts. He also works as a Freelance Broadcaster with NESN.
Chaves is an award-winning sports broadcaster, communications specialist, and media executive with a passion for storytelling and community engagement. A 2024 graduate of Dean College with a B.A. in Sports Broadcasting and a minor in Business, Brett graduated with a 4.0 GPA and held leadership roles as President & Executive Producer of Dean News Network and Sports Director of WGAO Power 88.3.
Recognized for his excellence in broadcasting, Brett was named the 2023 Futures League Broadcaster of the Year and has received multiple awards from Dean News Network, including “Best Anchor” and “Most Versatile.” Bilingual in English and Portuguese, he is proficient in several industry-standard platforms, including Presto LiveStats, Genius, Daktronics & TriCaster systems, and the Adobe Creative Suite.
