Former two-sport star, Alyssa Krause returns for her fifth season as the softball coach at her alma mater in 2021 and her third as the advisor to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
Her commitment to the mission of the SAAC has been showcased by her development of the program's community service endeavors from their "Dress A Live Doll" campaign in conjunction with the Salvation Army to the College hosting their first-ever Special Olympics Basketball Tournament in February 2020.
She oversees all aspects of the softball program, including recruiting, practice planning and preparation as well as student-athlete development.
Krause played both soccer and softball for two seasons at Dean (2010-12), before moving on to New England College in Henniker, N.H. where she also played both sports and was named the 2014 New England College Scholar Student-Athlete of the Year.
In her two years with the Pilgrims on the soccer field, she was named to the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) first-team all-conference in 2012 after leading the team in scoring and then second-team all-conference in 2013.
Then during her two seasons with the NEC softball program (2013, 2015), she started all 59 games, collecting 60 career hits.
In her two seasons at Dean, Krause excelled at both sports, earning all-region accolades and was named the 2012 Female Student-Athlete of the Year after leading the country in batting average (.639).
Krause holds an associate’s degree from Dean in sports fitness and a was a summa cum laude graduate from New England College in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology content with a teacher’s certification.
In addition to those responsibilities, she serves as a resident director on campus.
