WATERFORD, Conn. - September 22, 2023 - The Dean College women's cross country team finished third at Friday's Mitchell College Invitational held at Stenger Farm park.

Sophomore Kokoro Okada (Japan) set the pace for Dean with a time of 28:38 on the 5k course. She finished eighth out of 18 runners.

Junior Tanya Spengler (Vienna, Va.) was next in ninth place at 29:41.6.

Junior co-captain Emma Cotsonas (Jamestown, R.I.) – 29:46.3 and sophomore Isabella Nitschke (Watertown, Mass.) – 31:23.3 were the next two Dean finishers in 10th and 11th.

Sophomore Helen Sanford (Deerfield, Mass.) placed 13th in 31:52.9.

Senior co-captain Lexi Igler (Newbury, Mass.) finished 15th in 33:04.4, while sophomore Violet Smith (Madison, N.J.) crossed the finish line in 33:10.2 to place 16th.

The Bulldogs return to action on Oct. 7 at the James Earley Invitational hosted by Westfield State.
