NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. - September 17, 2023 - The Dean College women's cross country team competed at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sunday. The race was originally scheduled for Saturday but was moved to today due to Hurricane Lee.

The Bulldogs joined 36 other teams that represented all three NCAA Divisions. RESULTS

Junior Tanya Spengler (Vienna, Va.) covered the 5k course in 31:43.89 for the team's fastest time for the second week in a row. She finished 268th.

Sophomore Isabella Nitschke (Watertown, Mass.) was the next Bulldog in 271st place at 33:40.84.

Junior co-captain Emma Cotsonas (Jamestown, R.I.) completed the Robert Dowd Course in 34:44.54 to place 272nd.

Right behind Cotsonas was sophomore Kokoro Okada (Japan) with a time of 35:16.31. Sophomore Helen Sanford (Deerfield, Mass.) followed by crossing the finish line in 36:44.39. 

Sophomore Violet Smith (Madison, N.J.) finished 276th in 37:17.86, while senior co-captain Lexi Igler (Newbury, Mass.) clocked in at 37:31.24.

The Bulldogs travel to Mitchell on Friday for an afternoon race.
