THE LEAD:
Visiting Eastern Nazarene hit .315 as a team – including .406 in the third and final set – and the Lions posted a 3-0 (25-12, 25-13, 25-15) win over Dean College in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) women's soccer action on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Lions came out hot, scoring four of the first five points on their way to a 25-12 triumph in the opening frame.

Things stayed pretty much the same in the second stanza, with ENC coasting to a 25-13 victory before settling for a 25-15 win in the third and final game.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Both Ruth Aguilar and Halle Julian registered eight kills for the Lions, while Courtney McCarthy and Jaclyn Teed added six apiece.

Dean was paced by Miranda Marquez (San Pedro, Calif.), who ended with eight kills of her own, while Kait Anderson (Clinton, Conn.) provided six. Amanda Payne (Millis, Mass.) had 14 digs for the Bulldogs, while Melanie Rios-Nevarez (Vega Alta, Puerto Rico) handed out 12 assists.

Dean returns to action on Friday when they travel to the Hall of Fame Tournament to face Wheaton.
