THE LEAD:
Tiana Sugars
finished with 24 points and ten rebounds in just 22 minutes and host Colby-Sawyer opened their season with an 85-33 win over Dean College in non-league women's basketball action on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Chargers held the Bulldogs to single points in all four quarters and just 20 percent shooting from the field.

Meanwhile Colby-Sawyer made almost half of their shots (49 percent), held a 52-38 edge on the glass and forced 30 turnovers. In addition, the Chargers controlled the interior, holding a 56-14 advantage on points in the point.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Along with Sugars, Lexie Hamilton finished with 14 points, 12 assists and six steals while Joslin Wainwright added 15 points and 11 rebounds.

The Bulldogs were paced by Makayla Rudder (Springfield, Mass.), who ended with 11 points while Ajerah Sidbury added nine points and six rebounds.

Dean is off until Saturday when they host Clark University in the opening round of the Bulldog Basketball Tip-Off Tournament.
