Franklin, Mass. – Dean College football senior Julian Burris (Rock Hill, S.C.) was named the Thomas "Butchie" Williams '75 Homecoming Game Most Valuable Player in Saturday's 47-13 loss to Kean University it was announced postgame.
Named after a former student-athlete who passed away tragically on Homecoming in 1974, the award is handed out annually to the Dean football student-athlete who is selected as to have had the most impact on the contest.
Burris was tremendous in defeat for the Bulldogs, finishing the games with five catches for 142 yards, including a 63-yard touchdown reception.
Through the first game four games of the year, Burris leads the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) in receptions (23), receptions per game (5.8), receiving yards (412), receiving yards per game (103.0), yards per reception (17.9) and is second to his teammate Errol Breaux (Marietta, Ga.) in touchdown catches with three.
Burris and the Bulldogs are off until Saturday, October 12 when they host Maritime in the ECFC opener at 1:00 PM.
