Breaux, Grange, Moxey Sweep Weekly ECFC Awards

Marshfield, Mass. – After a rolling to a 42-15 win over Becker College on Saturday, three Dean College football student-athletes earned weekly honors from the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) it was announced on Monday afternoon.

Errol Breaux (Marietta, Ga.), DeAndre Grange (Teaneck, N.J.) and Shannon Moxey (Marietta, Ga.) were all honored for their outstanding performances against the Hawks.

Breaux, the league's offensive player of the week, finished with four catches for 135 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a breakout game for the speedy wideout. Included in that total was an 86-yard completion on first and ten from the one-yard line which setup a Bulldog touchdown. He then hauled in a 21-yard scoring strike from Terrell Watts (New Haven, Conn.) right before that first half ended that gave the Bulldogs the lead for good. Then on the first drive of the second half Watts found him wide open in the endzone from 22 yards out.

The league's leading scorer with five total touchdowns this season, Breaux leads the ECFC in yards per catch (17.6) and has the longest reception in the conference this year.

Grange had a career-day on Saturday in earning the league's rookie of the week honor. He ran for 116 yards and two touchdowns on 28 carries – all career-highs as Dean rushed for more than 200 yards as a team. His first career touchdown from five yards out got the Bulldogs on the board late in the first quarter and his second score and subsequent two-point conversion had Dean within one point late in the second period.

Grange's rushing totals have increased in every game this season and he currently ranks third in the conference in total rushing yards (254).

Moxey, meanwhile, the defensive player of the week, had a stellar day defensively, recording six tackles, and interception, a pass breakup, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. His strip of Becker quarterback Alpha Barry and recovery thwarted a scoring opportunity for the Hawks, who were in the red zone at the time of the turnover.

The league's leader in interceptions (2) with two of his teammates, Moxey ranks third in the conference in pass breakups (3) and is sixth in the league in total tackles (27).

Dean returns to action on Saturday when they host Alfred State in their conference opener. Kickoff is slated for 12:00 p.m.
