Women's Soccer Stopped By Top-Seeded Lesley In NECC Tournament, 2-0

Arlington, Mass. – Eighth-seeded Dean College saw its season come to an end after a hard fought 2-0 loss to top-seeded Lesley University in quarterfinal action of the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) women's soccer tournament on Sunday afternoon.

The match, which was postponed, a day after severe weather hammered the area, was eerily similar to the meeting in the regular season that saw the Lynx take 40 shots but score just one goal.

Lesley got on the board in the 22nd minute when a cross deflected off of a Dean defender and into the back of the goal.

That was how the game stood until midway through the second half when Jordan Mitchell deposited an unassisted strike at 59:35.

Macy Parisee (East Freetown, Mass.) was again stellar in between the pipes for the Bulldogs, turning aside 15 shots.

The Lynx held a 38-3 edge in shots and a 7-2 difference in corner kicks.

Dean's three shots came off of the feet of Lindsay Shannon (Plymouth, Mass.), Alison Nelson (Candia, N.H.) and Megan Moore (Clifton Park, N.Y.).

While the Bulldogs' season ends, the future of the program is bright as they will return ten of the 11 student-athletes who played in 14 games or more this season.
