HOW IT HAPPENED:
The game was tight early as the teams traded blows over the first five minutes. Genesis Johnson (Norwalk, Conn.) put the visitors on top with a tally just over a minute into the contest, although Daniella Holland notched her first goal of the day seconds later to tie the score.

After Mitchell went up behind back-to-back scores by McCormack and Corrigan, Lauryn Wilks (Hartford, Conn.) responded with a pair of goals to tie the game at 3-3 with 25:01 to go in the half.

McCormack scored the next two goals and Mitchell never trailed again. After Jordyn McKenney (Nashua, N.H.) closed the gap to 5-4 at the 21:33 mark, the Mariners scored nine of the final 10 goals of the half to take a commanding 14-5 lead by intermission. McCormack and Corrigan scored five goals apiece in the stanza to lead the assault.

Mitchell kept Dean off the scoreboard in the second half while adding six more goals for the final tally. Holland recorded a pair of scores in the half while Gagnon closed out the game with a goal off an assist from Corrigan.

Goalie Gillian MacLellan was solid for the Mariners and finished with 11 saves against 23 shots. Jamaya Cleveland (Greensboro, Ga.) faced a total of 54 shots on the day and made 14 saves.

Wilks paced the Bulldogs with three goals while Johnson and McKenney each added scores.
