THE LEAD:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Morgan Pero found the back of the net less than a minute into the contest and the Anchorwomen were off and running, racing to a 4-0 lead seven minutes into the contest.

Dean did score its lone goal almost immediately following a RIC score when Lauryn Wilks (Hartford, Conn.) registered her sixth of tally of the season on a free position shot.

RIC went on to close out the period with ten more goals over the final 20 minutes of the opening half to take a commanding lead into intermission.

They then went on to score six more goals in the second half to secure their first win of the season.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Pero led all scorers with five goals, while Gianna Ritchie ended with four goals and three assists.

Jamaya Cleveland (Greensboro, Ga.) totaled seven saves for the Bulldogs, while Julia Eaton turned aside 11 shots for RIC, including holding Dean to 1-for-8 on free position shots.

UP NEXT:
Dean returns to action on Tuesday when they host Albertus Magnus on Tuesday at 4:00 PM.
