GAME 1: Penn College 7, Dean College 1
The Wildcats pushed five runs across in the bottom of the fifth to break open a relatively close contest on their way to a 7-1 win over Dean in the first of two games the two teams will play over Spring Break.
Penn jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first when Taylor Brooks smacked an RBI single to left.
Then in the third inning, Brooks doubled the Wildcat advantage when she scored an unearned run on a Dean fielding error.
Brooks then kickstarted the fifth inning outburst when she registered another RBI single, but the big blow was a two-run single from Taylor Krow with two outs.
Makenzie Souza (New Bedford, Mass.) had the other two Dean hits in the game, as Kyla Benner was dominant in the circle, fanning 15 in the complete game victory.
GAME 2: Keystone College 16, Dean College 5
Keystone took advantage of five Dean College errors and the Giants banged out 13 hits in the 16-5 triumph.
The Bulldogs found themselves trailing 4-0 after the second inning when Melanie Rios-Nevarez (Vega Alta, Puerto Rico) got them on the board in the top of the third with an RBI groundout.
The Giants answered back in the bottom of the frame, scoring nine runs, highlighted by a three-run homerun by Shannon Lloyd.
