Benjamin Kaeterle returns for his third season as the assistant men's volleyball coach at Dean in 2019.
“Ben has a long history of playing and coaching both girls and boys volleyball,” Cohen said. “I know his knowledge and commitment will be a huge contribution to this program.”
Kaeterle comes to Dean after spending the past three years as the Girls’ Volleyball Head coach at Wareham High School. Before he became the head coach he served as an assistant from 2010-12, helping the 2011 team to its first playoff appearance in program history.
Prior to coaching the girls’ team, Kaeterle coached the Wareham High Boys Varsity team from March 2012 to May 2013. Through extensive fundraising efforts, the team overcame budget cuts to save their season.
Kaeterle also coached the Bay State Summer Games, serving as assistant coach for the Coastal Boys’ program, and worked as a volleyball counselor at Whaler Volleyball Camp from 2006-10.
As a player at New Bedford High school in 2006, Kaeterle was named a Big Three Volleyball Conference All Star, and made the Standard Times Volleyball Scholastic Team. He was named to the Dean’s List and was a member of the National Honor Society. He was also a Gold Medalist in the 2005 Volleyball Bay State Games.
In addition to his role as a volleyball coach, Kaeterle is also an Applied Behavioral Analysis therapist, having spent the past six years working for BDES (Behavioral Development Educational Services) in New Bedford, Mass. where he became the lead ABA therapist in September 2016.
Kaeterle graduated from Bridgewater State University in 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications Studies, with a concentration in Communication Technologies.
He resides in New Bedford.
