THE LEAD:
In a tri-match that featured a trio of New England Collegiate Conference squads, Dean College dropped both of their matches – first to Elms College, 3-0, in the opener and then 3-0 to Nichols College in the nightcap.

MATCH 1: Elms College 3, Dean College 0
The nationally-ranked Blazers had little trouble with the Bulldogs, posting a convincing 3-0 win that saw them hit .357, record 41 kills and notch ten service aces.

Pablo Ortiz totaled a match-high nine kills on only 17 swings, while Antonio Delgado and Jeremy Torres each contributed seven kills.

Dean was paced by Jaren Brooks (Odessa, Texas), who had six kills and six digs and Chadd Pelletier (Westbrook, Maine) handed out eight assists.

MATCH 2: Nichols College 3, Dean College 0
The host Bison racked up 52 kills as a team while hitting a sizzling .428 enroute to a 3-0 win over Dean.

Lance Law (15) and Nick Vermette (12) combined for 27 kills to lead the Nichols offensive attack. Meanwhile, Luis Castro dished out 28 assists.

John Kauffman (East Providence, R.I.) was a bright spot for Dean, ending with seven kills on .389 hitting.
