THE LEAD:
Bobby Tetreault (Mattapoisett, Mass.) had his second straight match with 30 assists or more and visiting Dean College rebounded from a disappointing loss on Senior Night on Tuesday with an easy 3-0 win over Pine Manor on Thursday evening.

The win for the Bulldogs pushes their record to 15-9 overall in advance of their season finale on Saturday at Endicott.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
In the first set, Dean jumped out to a 15-10 lead following a kill from Dean Bennett (Bloomfield, N.J.), but the Gators put up a fight and after a Dion Johnson kill, the score was tied at 17-17.

Dean answered back and scored eight of the set's final nine points, highlighted by consecutive service aces from Juan Fernando Ruelas-Garcia (Milford, Mass.) and kills from Tetreault and Diondre Gomes (Fairhaven, Mass.).

The second frame had a similar theme to the first as the Bulldogs moved out to a 23-17 edge courtesy of a Joel Carmona (Lawrence, Mass.) kill. But, as they did in the opening set, Pine Manor rallied, scoring seven straight points on the strength of a pair of service aces from Nate Matthews.

Now trailing 24-23, Dean got three straight kills from Carmona, Aaron Brody (Webster, Mass.) and Gomes to seal the set, 26-24.

With a 2-0 lead, the Bulldogs led wire-to-wire in the third set, closing out the match with four straight points on two Gator miscues and a two Gomes kills.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
In addition to his 30 assists, Tetreault provided five kills, seven digs and three service aces. Meanwhile, Gomes racked up 21 kills – his fourth match this season with 20 or more kills.

Moussa Seck (Malden, Mass.) contributed six kills of his own, while Carmona (five kills, five digs, four assists) also chipped in with an all-around effort.

UP NEXT:
The Bulldogs will wrap up their 2018 season on Saturday when they travel to Endicott for a 4:00 p.m.
