THE LEAD:
Dean College extended its winning streak to four straight as the host Bulldogs knocked off New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) rival Southern Vermont, 3-0, in men's volleyball action on Monday evening.

The win for Dean pushed their overall record to above the .500 mark and gives them their third conference victory of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Hot-hitting opened the first set for the Bulldogs, as they hit .542 and registered 15 kills on their way to the easy 25-14 win.

The second set wasn't as smooth offensively and Dean was only ahead 18-16 when they finished the frame with six straight points, highlighted by kills from Joel Carmona (Lawrence, Mass.) and Dean Bennett (Bloomfield, N.J.) and a set-sealing service ace from Bobby Tetreault (Mattapoisett, Mass.).

Kills from Diondre Gomes (Fairhaven, Mass.) and Logan Muise (Irvington, N.Y.) had the Bulldogs in from 19-13 in the third set and they then took advantage of some Mountaineer errors, including an attack miscue that gave the match to Dean, 25-19.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Gomes continued his stellar play, finishing with a match-best 15 kills on .400 hitting, while Carmona and Moussa Seck (Malden, Mass.) combined for ten kills.

Te Hayward led Southern Vermont with ten kills and El Olivares provided six of his own.

UP NEXT:
The Bulldogs are off until next Thursday when they travel to Eastern Nazarene while the Mountaineers are in action on Saturday at Johnson & Wales.
