Attleboro, Mass. – After a standout week in which he led Dean College to a pair of non-league victories, Diondre Charros (Fairhaven, Mass.) has been named both New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) men's volleyball player and rookie of the week it was announced on Monday.
The award for Charros is the first in program history and as the Bulldogs improved to 4-2 so far this season.
Charros was stellar as Dean powered past Pratt Institute for the second time this season. In the 3-0 win on Sunday, Charros delivered 15 kills, five service aces and four digs on a sizzling .545 hitting.
Then, in the nightcap triumph over Sarah Lawrence, Charros totaled nine kills, 16 assists and three more service aces.
Just six games into their second season of existence, the Bulldogs have already doubled their win total from a season ago.
Charros and the rest of his Dean teammates will return to action on Wednesday with a road trip to Regis College. First serve is slated for 6:00 PM.
