THE LEAD:
Gennaro Vittorioso
banged home the game-winning goal in the 83rd minute and visiting Berkeley College thwarted an incredible Dean College comeback with a 4-3 triumph in non-league men's soccer action on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Knights scored three first half goals, including a pair in the first four minutes and the visitors looked to be in total control.

Ignacio Sanin setup Carlos Goncalves for the match's first goal just 2:11 into action and then less than two minutes later Sanin was on the receiving end of a Wender Lima assist, doubling the Knights' advantage.

Things stayed that way until Lima got another tally for the visitors when he took a feed from Marcos Hidalgo at the 34:49 mark.

The Bulldogs woke up in the second half beginning when Davonn Smith (Lawrence, Mass.) delivered a pass to Danny Isaksen (Cambridge, England) for the team's first goal of the day.

A little more than four minutes later, Dean was on the board again when Smith scored his third marker of the season with help from Tyler Medeiros (New Bedford, Mass.)

The equalizer came in the 75th minute as Smith once again played playmaker connecting with Felipe Campos (Barnstable, Mass.) for the game-tying strike at 74:42.

It was not to be for Dean, however, as Berkeley got the go-ahead tally from Vittorioso less than eight minutes later.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
The Bulldogs actually held a 24-19 edge in shots, while the Knights had a slight edge in corner kicks (3-2).

Robert Parker turned aside nine shots for Berkeley, while Devin Moore (Walpole, Mass.) stopped five shots in the loss.

UP NEXT:
Dean returns to action on Wednesday when they host Framingham State for a 3:30 p.m. first touch.
