Men's Golf In Seventh After Day One Of MASCAC Championships

West Boylston, Mass. – Led by a first round score of 83 by Charlie Banks (Hanover, Mass.), the men's golf team ended the first day of the MASCAC Golf Championships in seventh place at the Wachusett Country Club in West Boylston on Saturday.

Springfield College holds an overall team lead with a score of 300 – seven strokes ahead of Westfield State and nine ahead of Salem State, who sits in third place.

The Pride's Mike Strong is atop the leaderboard with an even par 72 and teammate Jake Raichle is right on his heels with a one over par, 73.

Banks is currently in 20th place with his aforementioned 83 after a first round with ten pars. Both Tyler Langevin (Franklin, Mass.) and Ethan Lessard (Somers, Conn.) carded opening round scores of 90, while Michael McAuliffe (Groton, Mass.) and Corey Langevin (Franklin, Mass.) posted scores of 91 and 100, respectively.
