Men's Golf Takes Team Crown At Mitchell Invitational

Groton, Conn. – Austin McCreary (Northampton, Mass.) fired an even-par 71 to lay claim to the individual crown at the Mitchell College Invitational on Wednesday afternoon at the Shennecossett Golf Course.

With McCreary leading the way, Dean took home the team crown as well, posting a round score of 312 – 15 strokes ahead of second place Becker College.

McCreary recorded ten pars on the afternoon and finished two-under par of the par five holes to spearhead his excellent afternoon.

In addition to McCreary, Charlie Banks (Hanover, Mass.) had his best round as a collegian, firing a round of 76 (+5) to finish in a tie for second overall.

Joining those two in the top ten was Kyle Bemis (Mansfield, Mass.) who carded an 81 – good for a seventh place finish.

Chris DeLuca (Raritan, N.J.) and Josh McInnis (Topsfield, Mass.) completed the round for the Bulldogs, posting scores of 84 (+13) and 96 (+25), respectively to help Dean seal the victory.

The Cardinal and White will wrap up their fall season on Saturday when they take part in the Becker Invitational at the Wachusett Country Club.
