Marshfield, Mass. – For the second consecutive week and the fourth time this season, Dean College junior standout Jordan Booker (Waterbury, Conn.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) men's basketball player of the week it was announced on Monday morning.
The honor for Booker comes following a week in which he averaged 23.0 points, 9.5 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 3.5 steals as the Bulldogs surged into second place in the conference standings following a 2-0 week.
In a 94-86 win over Becker, he scored 17 of his 19 points in the second half as Dean posted 58 points in the final 20 minutes to pull away from the visiting Hawks. In addition to his scoring, Booker totaled, six rebounds and ten assists while shooting 7-for-15 from the field.
Then in a road win over Elms College, he registered 27 points on an efficient 10-for-19 shooting, including adding nine assists, four rebounds and five steals.
Booker played all 80 possible minutes and shot 50 percent from the field and 89 percent from the free throw line.
In 23 games this season, he ranks second in the conference in points per game (23.0), three-point percentage (46.6) and fourth in assists per game (4.9). Overall, he leads the conference in total points scored (529), field goals made (193) and has 15 games this season with 20 points or more.
Booker and the rest of his Bulldog teammates are back in action on Wednesday when they host Eastern Nazarene on Senior Night.
