Booker's Huge Week Leads To NECC Player Of The Week Honors

Mansfield, Mass. – After a monster week that saw him average 30 points per game, Dean College star guard Jordan Booker (Waterbury, Conn.) has been named New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) men's basketball player of the week it was announced on Monday morning by the league office.

Booker was sensational in a 2-0 week as Dean extend its winning streak to five games following a pair of conference victories.

In a wild, 111-104 triumph over Newbury College, Booker was sensational, finishing with 32 points, on an extremely efficient, 8-for-14 shooting from the field to go along with four assists and four steals while playing 39 minutes.

Then, in another standout performance, he racked up 28 points on 11-for-17 shooting to go along with four steals, three rebounds and three assists as the Bulldogs raced past Becker, 78-61 on Saturday.

For the week, Booker shot 61 percent from the field (19-for-31) and from three-point land (8-for-13), while going 14-for-18 from the free throw line (78 percent) and playing 78 out of a possible 80 minutes.

Through 13 games this season, Booker is second in the NECC in scoring (21.0 ppg), third in three-point percentage (45.7) and first in three-pointers made (43).

Dean College, currently sitting at 9-4 overall and 4-1 in league play, returns to the floor on Tuesday when they host NECC rival, Elms College at 7:00 p.m.
