THE LEAD:
Powered by the second consecutive offensive explosion from its backcourt duo of Jordan Booker (Waterbury, Conn.) and Dayvon Russell (Naugatuck, Conn.), Dean College sprinted past Lesley University, 107-66, in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) men's basketball action on Saturday afternoon.

Booker and Russell combined for 56 points in today's triumph, two days after recording a combined 61 in a wild, 115-110 win over the University of New England.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Today's matchup with the Lynx was never in doubt as Dean burst out of the gate to take a 12-1 lead and even though Lesley cut the Dean lead down to two at 22-20 midway through the opening stanza, the Bulldogs sealed the game minutes later.

With Dean in front, 36-32 following a basket from Treyvon Trent, the Bulldogs closed the half on a 19-0 spurt over the final 4:56, highlighted by seven points each from Russell and Armani Baker (Pawtucket, R.I.).

Now ahead 55-32 to start the second half, the Lynx never got closer than 19 points the rest of the way and Dean saw its lead continue to grow until it maxed out at the final margin of 41 on a pair of Vashon Wilson (Stamford, Conn.) free throws in the final 30 seconds.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Dean connected on a season-best 13 three-pointers and shot a robust 55 percent from the field for the game.

Baker was a perfect 9-for-9 from the field to finish with 18 points and eight rebounds, while Booker totaled 26 points and made seven three-pointers.

Russell, meanwhile, followed up his triple-double performance on Thursday, with a season-high 30 points to go along with four rebounds, three assists and five steals.

UP NEXT:
The Bulldogs are off until Saturday, January 5 when they host New England College in NECC action. Tipoff is slated for 3:00 PM.
