BACK IN ACTION
Set for the second season of the program's second act, field hockey kicks off its 2019 season on the road at Albertus Magnus on Friday, August 30. That contest is just one of a 16-game slate that the Bulldogs will encounter as they play their second season following a 21-year hiatus.
Jess Paulin was named head coach of both the field hockey and women's lacrosse programs in June. Paulin brings with her a pedigree of coaching and developing talent at the Division III level and with a strong connection in the club world. She is joined on the field hockey sidelines by assistant Jolane Thibault, a former standout student-athlete at Worcester State University.
Of those 16 aforementioned games, Dean will play five of their first seven games on the road with their first home contest coming when Albertus Magnus returns the season-opening favor and travels to Franklin for the second of a home-and-home series on September 18.
HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE?
After an early stretch of road contests, the Bulldogs will then play five straight contests at home. However, the 16-game schedule is split right down the middle – eight home, eight away.
GUESS WHO'S BACK
The Bulldogs return seven student-athletes from a season ago, including Stephanie Conrad (Bedford, N.H.), Valerie Cronick (Bayonne, N.J.), Kat Conforti (Providence, R.I.), Jordyn McKenney (Nashua, N.H.), Wynter Morin (Bethel, Maine), Hannah Salvadore (Barre, Mass.) and Faith Verney (Franklin, Mass.).
Dean welcomes seven newcomers to the program for the 2019 campaign. Freshmen Maire Brown (Huntington, N.Y.), Zoe Coleman (Warwick, R.I.), Jada Fields (Acushnet, Mass.), Nina Klein (North Easton, Mass.), Alexis Masse (Woonsocket, R.I.) and Alba Tourigny (Franklin, Mass.) are joined by sophomore women's lacrosse star Maggie Pomeroy (Sanbornville, N.H.).
