THE LEAD:
Six different student-athletes rattled the back of the cage and visiting Becker College swept the season series with Dean College by besting the Bulldogs, 10-0, in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) field hockey on Sunday afternoon.

Katherine Bernier led the Hawks' offensive attack by recording three goals, while both Amy Cooper and Lauren Niemann each scored a pair.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Dean defense came out strong initially and held Becker off the board until almost 14 minutes had gone by, but Bernier put the visitors on top with an unassisted tally at 13:59.

Less than a minute later, Emily Iacovelli was setting up Alexis Keohane for the Hawks' second goal.

That lead increased when Niemann and Cooper registered unassisted strikes before the half ended.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Becker held a 28-0 edge in shots and a 19-0 advantage in penalty corners. Katlyn Conforti (Warwick, R.I.) stepped into goal and was aggressive, turning aside ten shots.

UP NEXT:
Both teams are back in action on Tuesday when they play NECC home games. Dean takes on New England College at 3:00 PM, while the Hawks host Elms College at 4:00 PM.
