Marshfield, Mass. – For the second time this season, Dean College standout running back DeAndre Grange (Teaneck, N.J.) has been named the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) Rookie of the Week it was announced on Monday afternoon by the league office.
The honor for Grange comes following a monster afternoon carrying the ball in adverse conditions in the Bulldogs' season-ending 19-13 win over Anna Maria.
Grange ran the ball a career-high 30 times for 115 yards and provided all three Dean touchdowns as the Bulldogs finished the season at 5-5 overall and 4-2 in conference action.
The freshman tailback scored on runs of three yards, 13 yards and finally, punched it in from ten yards out with less than three minutes remaining to break a 13-13 tie.
Grange, who previously won the weekly honor back in September, finished the season with 721 yards rushing and ten touchdowns while recording four games of 100 yards or more.
It also marked the sixth time this season that Dean had the Rookie of the Week honoree. Terrell Watts (September 3, October 1, October 22) earned the honor three times, while Grange collected two and Quintus Reid (September 17) had the other.
Picked to finish fourth in the preseason coaches' poll, Dean went 4-1 at home, won three straight games to finish the season, tied for the national lead in interceptions (22) and finished third in the league standings.
