Records: Dean (4-6, 2-5 ECFC), Anna Maria (1-9, 1-6 ECFC)
Location: Paxton, Mass. (AMCAT Field)

THE LEAD:
Richard Harris (Uniondale, N.Y.) rushed for 212 yards and a touchdown and Dean College limited Anna Maria College to 130 yards of offense Saturday afternoon as the Bulldogs blanked the AMCATS, 27-0, in the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) season finale for both teams at AMCAT Field.

The Bulldogs wrap up their season with a 4-6 overall record and a 2-5 mark in the ECFC while the AMCATS wind up 1-9 overall and 1-6 in conference play.

How It Happened:
The Bulldogs needed less than a minute to get on the scoreboard as Kordell Scott (Orlando, Fla.) connected with Carelle Hill (Bridgeport, Conn.) on a 70-yard touchdown pass on Dean's second play from scrimmage. Hunter Lechthaler (Nutley, N.J.) converted the extra point to make it 7-0 just 57 seconds into the game.

Dean scored a pair of touchdowns less than three minutes apart midway through the second quarter to seal the win. Noah Taiese (Aiea, Hawai'i) rumbled into the end zone from 24 yards out with 9:56 on the clock, and classmate Dequan Brown (Newark, N.J.) caught a 52-yard TD pass from Scott with 7:09 remaining in the quarter. Lechthaler made one of two extra-point kicks, and Dean led 20-0 at halftime.

Harris wrapped up the scoring in the third quarter with a three-yard run to cap off a seven-play, 76-yard drive for the Bulldogs.

Anna Maria committed three first-half turnovers and turned the ball over on downs twice in each half. The AMCATS had a first-and-goal at the Dean five-yard line in the second quarter after a 38-yard pass completion from Jayson Wallace (Rochester, N.Y.) to Marquis Roderique (Dorchester, Mass.) but couldn't punch it home on the next four plays.

Roderique returned the opening kickoff of the second half 55 yards, and a pair of Dean personal foul penalties gave Anna Maria a first-and-goal from the seven, but again the Bulldog defense denied the AMCATS on four straight plays. After forcing a Bulldog punt, Anna Maria started its next drive on the Dean 30-yard line but couldn't muster a first down against a stout Bulldog defense.

Inside the Numbers:
Dean outgained Anna Maria in total yards, 439 to 130, and recorded 20 first downs to five for the home team. Scott finished 6-of-11 passing for 133 yards and two touchdowns for the Bulldogs.

Ricco Aaron (Douglasville, Ga.) anchored the Dean defense by making eight tackles (seven solo) and forcing a fumble, while Gene Baisden, Jr. (Tampa, Fla.) made seven tackles, including two sacks, and also forced a fumble.

Trent Waters (Knoxville, Tenn.), playing in his final contest for the Cardinal and White, finished with three tackles – two of them for loss.
