Freshman reliever Ryan Williams tossed four innings of stellar relief, allowing just four hits with three strikeouts and Curry College held off a late Dean College rally to top the Bulldogs, 10-7, in non-league baseball action on Monday afternoon.

The loss for Dean spoiled a tremendous performance at the plate from Brian Hadden (Newburyport, Mass.), who went 5-for-5 with a pair of doubles.

The Bulldogs took an early 2-0 lead when Travis Dinsdale (Worcester, Mass.) drove in a run with a single to left and then Hadden followed with one of his doubles in the bottom of the second.

After the teams traded single runs in the third – Dean's coming on an RBI groundout by Rolando Marcano (Bridgeport, Conn.) – the Colonels sliced into the lead when Evan Leveroni made the score, 3-2 with a sacrifice fly to center in the fourth.

Curry plated five runs in the fifth highlighted by a two-run single from Jared Keller and a two-run double from Tyler Jenkins.

After Williams came in to slow down the Dean bats, Dylan Ketterer smacked a two-run double in the seventh and then drove in another run in the ninth.

The Bulldogs didn't go quietly, however, getting RBI singles from Andrew Dirito (Plymouth, Mass.) and Marcano before Landon Fish (New Port Richey, Fla.) found himself down to the game's final strike before stroking a two-run double to right center and suddenly the game-tying run was in the on-deck circle.

Reliever Tyler Nadeau was able to get the final out of the inning on a groundout, however, ending the Bulldog rally.

Tyler McAloon (Berkley, Mass.) went seven innings for Dean, allowing six earned runs, while Ethan Bernardo (Pawtucket, R.I.) tossed two innings of stellar relief.

In addition to Hadden's big day, Dirito, Fish and Jeff Sharnick (Stratford, Conn.) all had two hits for the Bulldogs.

Dean returns to action on Tuesday when they play host to Gordon College at 3:30 PM.
