Mitchell College star Steven Pagan went 4-for-4 at the plate and the host Mariners took the rubber game of a three-game series with Dean College by posting a 10-1 win over the Bulldogs in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) baseball action on Sunday afternoon.

Pagan, the league's leading hitter at .467, opened things up for Mitchell when he drove in two runs in the bottom of the first on a single up the middle.

The Bulldogs were able to slice that lead in half in the third when Will Kulcher (Crown Point, Ind.) drove in Matt Callahan (Attleboro, Mass.) with a double to left.

Mitchell added a single run in the fourth and two more in the fifth to push their lead out to 6-1. Two more runs came home in the sixth on RBI doubles from James Rangel and Pagan and then Eric Marriott blasted a two-run homerun in the seventh to cap the scoring.

After scoring just six runs in the first two games, the Mariners erupted for ten runs on ten hits led by Pagan and Kyle Hartenstein, who had two hits, two walks and three runs scored.

Kulcher went 3-for-3 at the plate for the Bulldogs, while Brian Hadden (Newburyport, Mass.) two hits as those two amassed five of the seven Dean hits.

Dean is back in action on Tuesday when they visit Eastern Nazarene at 3:30 p.m. for a non-conference tilt.
