THE LEAD:

The win for the Pride is their fifth in a row as they see their unbeaten streak reach eight games.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Springfield did most of their damage in the second and third innings, scoring five runs in each frame. The key play in the second came in the form of a Cooney three-run double. The big blows in the third were two-run singles from Cooney and David Wells.

On the mound, Springfield starting hurler Kyle Naples struck out five over five innings, allowing just a Landon Fish (New Port Richey, Fla.) leadoff single in the fourth.

Following Naples, a quartet of Pride relievers tossed the final four innings and yielding just two hits.

Colton Fitzsimmons (Fairhaven, Mass.) took the loss for the Bulldogs, giving up five runs in 1.2 innings of work.

In addition to Fish (2-for-4), Ben Chajet (Hillsboro Beach, Fla.) had a one out double to center in the bottom of the eighth.

UP NEXT:
The Bulldogs return to action on Friday when they take on Southern Vermont at the New England Baseball Complex in Northboro. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
