Wood, Vazquez Named USCAA All Americans

FRANKLIN, Mass.- Capping a terrific season, sophomore outfielder Christopher Wood was selected as a USCAA First Team All American and a USCAA Academic All American.  Catcher Ivan Vazquez also earned recognition, recieving USCAA Third Team All American honors.

Wood batted .402 on the year, hitting 3 homers and driving in 31 RBI's while scoring 39 runs in 31 games. He hit safely in 25 out of 31 contests and had six efforts where he collected more than two hits.  In a 19-15 loss to Fisher College on March 24th, Wood went 3-3 with 2 HR, 5 runs scored, 7 RBI's and 3 walks.  In a crucial April 20th victory over Lasell College, Wood went 4-5 with a double and 4 RBI's.  

Wood was also named to the USCAA All Academic Team, becoming the only Bulldog selected with the high honor.

Vazquez hit .427 on the year with 2 HR, 19 RBI, and 22 runs scored.  He belted 9 doubles and 1 triple while earning 10 walks over 25 games.  His standout performance came in a victory against Eastern Nazarene on April 19.  He went 3-4 with 2 runs scored and 3 RBI's.  His two run homer in the bottom of the sixth extended the Bulldogs lead and put the game out of reach.
