Baseball Overtakes Chatham Late
  • Dean College Bulldogs Baseball and Chatham University played a taut affair on Friday at The Ripken Experience, with the Bulldogs eventually prevailing 10-8 after taking the lead for good in the eighth inning. 
  • Both offenses were strong at the plate.  Dean colllected 13 hits and Chatham University had ten.
  • The Bulldogs captured the lead in the first inning.  Retsyn Ootton drove in one with a double. 
  • Dean knotted the game up at eight in the top of the seventh inning on an error that scored two runs. 
  • Dean scored three runs in the seventh inning on a double by Daniel Blazejewski and a error.
  • Chatham University scored three runs in the fourth inning. The big inning  came thanks to a single by Michael Roussey and a single by Carmen Jansante.
  • Jon Lawlor earned the win for the Bulldogs.  He tossed four innings, surrendering one run, two hits, striking out one, and walking zero.  Jake Sweeney took the loss for Chatham University. He threw one and 2/3 innings, allowing two runs, one hit, and walking two. 
  • Jason Bottone started the game for Dean. He went five innings, giving up seven runs, eight hits, and striking out two.  Justin Silvious started the game for Chatham. He threw six innings, giving up five runs, ten hits, striking out three, and walking one.
  • BlazejewskiOotton, Kyle Priest, and Conor Callery each collected multiple hits for Dean. 
  • Nick RamseyPaul Nussbaum, and Roussey each collected multiple hits for Chatham University.
  • The Bulldogs are now 2-6 on the year, winners of 2 of their last 3. They next play March 18th in a doubleheader vs. Maine Farmington and Fisher.
